Happy!

While at Frolicon, my jasmine tree shriveled up and died: lost nearly all of it's leaves. I was going to throw it out, when Lacuna Diving Bunny pointed out that it it had several new spots of growth. I've been watering it regularly since then, and earlier this week was surprised to come home to find that it had budded several flowers while I was out all day -- particularly weird since it had maybe three leaves on the entire tree.

Tuesday, I noticed several newly budding leaves, and since the model for my planned photo shoot seemed to have flaked on me, I spent the evening carefully trimming back all the dead ends of the branches.

Today, I discovered a massive amount of new growth on the tree! Seems like it really liked the trimming it got!

Woo-hoo! I didn't kill it!

This is what plants do when they think they're in danger of dying. They put the last of their energy into creating a new little plant, safe in a seed, until conditions are more favorable. It's a little rocketship, hurled from a dying planet. :)
