updates and to-do
13 February 2007 13:47I'm apparently having issues with my tone of voice in text-only communications again. I've been looking for new models on ModelMayhem and seem to have accidentally offended the only model who has written me back so far.
I'm guessing, since it's the usual problem I have, that I'm scape-goating my frustrations again. Only, this time I'm not sure how to NOT scapegoat. Brian is still refusing to speak to me, and the lengths he went to at CapriCon to avoid me were downright insulting. He still won't talk to me long enough to evenlet me know WHY he's mad at me, and I'm simply out of ideas about how to handle the problem.
In other news, I'll be attending Riddlemark Theatre's The Pendragon on Friday, at 7pm. It's a newly written, 3-hour play set in epic verse, and based on Arthurian legend. Join me, if you're interested in that sort of thing. A guy from my Grant Writing class is the brother of the performers, and is using their theater company as the basis for his class work.
It's cold in my apartment, for the first time in my memory. I'm wandering around in sweats and layers, with fleece socks on. It's kind of nice, having the temperature in my apartment relate in some way to the temperature outside.
Also, it looks like I won't be going to the Transworld show after all. Apparently, they've been making it harder and harder to get in, in an effort to make it so that only industry-related businesses can go. In order to get in, I need to show them all kinds of crazy stuff, including a set of invoices proving that I made purchases last year at the show. They practically want copies of my tax returns.
Under the cut is today's To Do list.

Date: 13 Feb 2007 20:30 (UTC)An oddly-phrased comment at the con combined with your post leads me to believe it may be related to the evening events after the auction at ToBeCon, though whether it was the use of his room, or simply his not being invited, I cannot say.
NOTE: this is mere speculation on my part, and in no way constitutes objective fact nor statement regarding Brian's motivations. The odd phrasing of his comment may also have simply been colored by annoyance for other reasons.

Date: 13 Feb 2007 20:41 (UTC)In general, my relationship with D & J in the last few years has been based on not being directly involved in their projects. It's helpful to them to have someone to bounce ideas off of who does not have a stake in their decisions, and it's been very useful to me to be able to see their decision process from that vantage as well.
(if the tone of this comment seems odd, it's because I'm worried about how I come across, after that thread with the model which I also mention in this post)
PS - It's good to hear from you.
