Click on "Uneasy," if you've never heard of Laika before. Black Cat Bone is really good, too, but Uneasy is hitting home for me today.

I should really get some sleep. I've got a date with that girl from Shibari Con tomorrow. My second, this time we're headed out to that thing at Spot 6. Not really a date, I guess, but a thing we're doing together. Language is such a weird concept.

I'm trolling my Hell Hole to see if I've mentioned how the first date went and I can't find it. I know it happened some time in June, but the exact date is missing from the feeble thing I call my brain. Anyway, the first time I took this girl out, the pro-domme I met at the con, we went to dinner and then I pretty much bailed out. She had pulled that trick of suggesting one activity and then having another lined up as either an excuse to depart or invite me along to. She invited, but I bailed.

The thing is, she just wouldn't stop talking about her work. I'm probably one of a handful of men in America who wouldn't be fascinated by that sort of access, but seriously, after an hour, the novelty had completely worn off. At one point I even said to her, I don't want to give you the impression that I'm uncomfortable with what you do for a living, but I'm interested in getting to know you, not the inner workings of the Chicago dungeon scene, and she responded, "Well, *laugh* good, because I usually charge $100 an hour for those conversations."

Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that I talk about photography an awful lot, too, but it isn't the only thing I talk about, and I can stop if people ask me to. Hell, Blue Beard once commented that I could probably have a conversation with a total stranger about radiators, if the mood struck me. Besides, there's something about the specific stuff she talks about that I find a warning. She talks about clients, dungeons, mistresses, she talks about the people. She loves to share stories about her crazy life that have a certain pattern to them.

Maybe I just haven't wormed my way into her comfort zone yet. We're both control freaks, I've come on pretty strong, so maybe she's just being wary. At the very least, it'll be cool to have someone to egg me into doing Scene stuff that's not trying to get me to work the event.

Interestingly enough, I don't remember one photography conversation during Frolicon between us for someone who talks about photography an awful lot.

I could have sworn Jayda, Fritz and I talked about photography when we first met.

You three may have had a discussion, but you never spoke of it with ME, to my memory. Maybe I tuned you guys out.

IIRC, you were pretty cold at the time.

Freezing my ass off by the pool, yes. I might have tuned you guys out because I'm friends with a lot of photographers who are always talking about it (Fritz included sometimes when he gets around the others) LOL. And, of course, I was enjoying your company and warm arm :)
