In a rash fit of impetuousness, I deleted everything in my LiveJournal Comments email folder. I have about fifty folders, all designed to carefully organize things I might need later. Only it occurs to me that I never look them up.

Oh, and Freud enthusiasts will love how I tangent from that topic to the next one.

Ziggy Sighting. Stacey Marie (aka the former Achingly Defiant, [livejournal.com profile] mothburning) called while I was in the digital darkroom. She & Zan are in Athens, Georgia and doing well.

Oddly, SMP's call reminded me of Rebecca Murphy, my first Official Girlfriend back in high school. She was the first girl who ever pursued me, who made the first move. She was also the first g/f I ever had who invited me to have dinner with her parents. A lot of other relationship-y firsts.

What I remembered was the first kiss. We'd met at a speech team tournament, and had called each other on the phone a few times. I was over at her house, the first time we were seeing each other outside a school event. Her family was out, and we were watching a movie. Over the phone, we'd been discussing our interest in each other from an almost philosophically detached point of view. So, very casually, I asked her Have you given any further thought to that option we were considering?

"I have," she said. And...?

She leaned over and kissed me, full on the lips. It was a sweet, tender closed-mouth kiss. The chaste kind, I suppose you could call it. At first, anyway. Our lips parted, and I think I said something like, Well, I'm glad that's settled at any rate, and then turned back to the movie. I sat there, watching the movie, and enjoying the moment immensely for maybe a full two minutes, before turning my attention back to her.

I miss that sort of innocence.

They're based of the naming system used in the Panchatra, as well as other fables. Mostly, they're just apt.

Although I find it odd that you commented about that in this post. Oh, and it's not just the women in my life. I try to give epitaphs for everyone. Have you seen the full list? (http://www.livejournal.com/users/amul/203996.html)
