Achingly D would always point out that I had a certain roster of songs, at least one of which would always make it onto whatever mix CD I was making. I've made a very big point of not using those songs on the last three mixes I made, and now I've found that there's a different set of songs I seem to be reusing.

Granted, these aren't all going to the same person, like with AD. So what do people think? What's the rules regarding re-use of songs on mix CDs?

[Edit: Obviously, this question doesn't apply to the two Boingo songs, which I need to infect everyone here with so they can engage in certain ritualistic acts with me.]

You know what? Some songs are SO good, and are SUCH a part of your life, that they just HAVE to be reused. It's totally valid (or at least, I believe it's valid since I do it all the time). I wouldn't want to have 6 songs be the same on each CD, because it's supposed to be a different mix each time, right? But 1 or 2 songs? That's just a signature.

I find that the signature songs change over time, as I do. Each mix becomes a mile marker for who I was when I made it.

Once again, you provide me with a perspective that's utterly alien, and yet once spoken, seems perfectly obvious.

This is who now? That was just some picture of a girl that I found on my camera one day... She kinda looked funny to me, like's she's trying really hard to look "bad", but failing. I don't know, I just decided to keep it and make it into an icon. So you know who she is? How funny!

Yeah, she shows up to a lot of the same parties you do, only she always comes early and you always come late. You're so fashionable.

P.S.

Also, in a strange way, she kinda looks like me. I think it's the nose.
