That is the most ridiculous explanation I have ever seen for those test results: "The brain cannot process 'OF'." How about, I don't know...pay attention? ...practice awareness? If anything, it shows how language can be a crutch, or how the English language handles pronunciation in odd ways, but the brain is fully capable of processing "OF."

This explanation always made me laugh as well. It's more a question of attention and focus. I remember many years ago one of these memes going around. You were supposed to read a paragraph out loud. And I did so, eliciting giggles each time I reread it from the person giving me the test. Finally, I realized that the word "the" appeared in one spot twice, right after each other, but the second one started on a new line. My brain automatically ommitted the extra "the" and I never even saw it.

Now, I rarely get tricked by these kinds of memes, because I am always focused and methodical in my counting or reading. So I counted all six letters "f" in this one without a problem.
