2. Where will you be when 2005 ends?
Probably in Pittsburgh, a cell phone in one hand and a glass of champagne in the other
3. Was 2005 a good year for you?
It was, actually. Despite these recent months of frustration, I've achieved things I never thought possible. Survived experiences I always imagined would break me.
There is so much to do, and see. And be.
4. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Opening my eyes at Neo, and thinking I know half the dancefloor here.
5. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Crying into my pillow, while a woman who was not a child anymore packed her bag.
6. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Gee, what to choose? The exhibition at Echo Gallery? Overcoming fifteen years of bitterness? Twice? Going back to school? A drunken conversation with Pure Earth?
Naw, I'm a sap at heart. I'd have to go with one solid weekend of making the right choice, with a girl I thought I'd lost all contact with.
7. What was your biggest failure?
Getting nowhere with my attempts to reconnect with my family. Not yet being strong enough to live alone.
8. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Everything! Mardi Gras, Sigur Ros. Gen Con. All the times I had the strength to say no to something that only had value in the short term. Admitting my emotions.
9. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?
Waking up in bed with a bunch of sixteen year olds.
10. Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
I pushed.
11. Do you have any regrets about 2005?
No, I shed regret in 2005.
12. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did, and I will.
13. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory and why?
Too many. January 23rd, snowbound. A phone call on April 6th. A footrub on the fourth of July.

Roo calling me again. Sigur Ros. Neo. Gremlin, Austin and all the rest of my friends.

New Orleans, the Ozarks, and a hell of a lot of Chicago. Oh, and Indianapolis and Columbus, natch. Milwaukee.

I remember being sick for the first time since I was on my own.
23. Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
Can I get a "Too Much!?"
24. Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
Surprisingly little. Gaian Mind was the only time I can really remember.
25. What was the best thing you bought this year?
My *ist DS, although my new laptop is a really close second.
26. Where did most of your money go?
Paying for mistakes.
27. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Radiant Idol, (f)AD and Roo
I really need to get more male friends.

My parents'. Myself. The two couples who got divorced.
29. What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
That she had been asleep when she tried to put her hand down my pants.

I've treated most of my friends more poorly than they deserve, I suspect.

Yes, but I understood why.

I don't know if I'd call it love, precisely, but it is awfully comfortable on this side of the couch.

There is a piece of me that is still as deeply enamored as before.

Yes, but they are as faceless as Uncle Wayne, really.

Well, I avoided most actual TV watching in the traditional sense, but HSTV and Lost will have distinct flavors for me from now on.

Some zombie flick from Australia that I really need to get the name of.

The Song of Ice and Fire trilogy.

Sigur Ros, hands down. Flat. On the table.

In the beginning, I was a no-nonsense, no-time-for-frills jeans and t-shirt guy. Now I'm trying to find a new look that is slowly coming together.
