There are links to amateur video which was smuggled out.

"A source inside the Utah government reports that this action was
undertaken out of fear that the Rave would be used to rally support for
the protest against Bush's upcoming Utah visit."

First hand accounts of participants... http://utrave.org/showthread.php?t=20020&page=1&pp=10

This is atrocious.

Utah must be a very idyllic place if the police have time to break up parties 60 miles from any city.

Unless you're not a Mormon.

Fuck, I went to raves in the Tennessee Smoky Mountains. No cops ever took time off from bashing some unfortunate minority's head against a Knoxville sidewalk so they could harass some stupid kids in the hilly wilderness. I guess Utah really is worse than the southern states.

Ok, hell.. do you believe everything you read? At least there was some of the other side in wiki article you linked. There's alot of maybe type stuff in there that really isn't confirmed, so it's not much to jump up and down about. I wouldn't be too furious until there's some actual facts to look at.

I think I should point out that the note about "rallying support for the protest against Bush" isn't in the Wikinews article anymore, nor was it when I read the article. It sounded sort of made up on the spot, anyway.

Hrm, I didn't mean to quote that part of the source material I culled the links from.

*shrug* Chalk it up to me working over a dozen hours every day this week.

Police commit acts of brutality against rightfully assembled, permit-possessing citizens.

If by this you mean, "Illegally assembled, illegal narcotic posessing citizens", then you're right.

You jump on my ass for using "peacenik" as a derogatory term, but you don't seem to have a problem throwing out claims of brutality on cops who are busting up what they claim is a rave full of illegal narcotics. A claim which appears to have been substantiated by their arrests.
