Brought in the new year surrounded by friends with rope in my hand. The next day, a half-dozen of us collected at my place to play board games and continue The Drinking. Today, I was one of the presenters at a huge Q&A session. Afterward, I stopped by my dungeon, had a merry time chatting with some people until I discovered that the Moonhowler Crew were headed in to Chicago to dance the night away at Neo.
I joined them, of course. I haven't seen these kindred spirits in ages. We screamed into each others' ears, catching up, talking about the future, talking about how we can help each other make our dreams come true. Gods, I love living in the future! No more conversations about how we'll have to remember to make arrangements to do something. We just whipped out our little devices, checked out calendars, scheduled events, coordinated travel plans, transmitted useful links, swapped pictures. I had a gorram business meeting in the middle of a goth club, and by the gods, we Got Stuff Done.
Tomorrow, TNGC will be having a leadership meeting to discuss the shape, focus and intent of our organization. Afterward, I'll stop off at my parents' home to finally pick up the gorram apnea treatment devices. Soon, I'll know rest as I have not experienced it in many years! Later that night, I'll sign up for BAM with a girl whose just turning 21. Monday, some of the Moonhowler Crew is coming back for dinner and a preview of Daybreakers. Tuesday, I have a Success Team meeting.
And Wednesday, oh sweet blessed Wednesday, I head to Texas without plans, without expectations, with only anticipation and desire in my heart.
2010, I've got my eye on you. I've got you in my sights, and I plan to blow your expectations of me all out of proportion.
