I returned from Pittsburgh a day early, after crashing out from the NYE party sometime before dawn. Frightening to admit, but it was entirely because I wanted to see Princess Dragonbait again. The relationship is still new and delightful, and I'm struggling to manage the trick of intellectually understanding that I'm crazy with adoration while still letting myself indulge in the emotional bliss of it. I just can't get enough of her time.

Lacuna Diving Bunny asked if I could find time for her before our "scheduled weekend", in quotes both because her weekend is Wed-Thursday, and because the "schedule" is an incredibly loose one. I had to let my brain rule that decision, because my heart rebelled against the idea of even a few hours away from PDb, when I knew that I missed LDB just as much. I made arrangements to stop by LDB's on Sunday night for a movie, and sure enough, as soon as I saw her, I was flooded with a whole other set of emotions. Seeing her, I remembered in my heart that I loved LDB, felt how precious time with her was to me.

Still, it doesn't feel particularly romantic to have to intellectually manipulate myself into moments where I remember stuff like that. Never satisfied with myself, I went to bed in my own home for the first time since I'd returned to Chicago, berating myself for not having a sensible heart, for being prey to long-ago documented pitfalls of new relationships.

I'm working on a new project with Nigel Sade, blending his illustrative efforts with my photography. I'll give you a hint about the first piece, by explaining that Nigel is taking Lead on Artistic Direction, and that we're having a lot of fun discovering how we manage to use the same program (Photoshop) in two completely different ways.

PDb commented, "It seems like you can do a lot with Photoshop."
Nigel: "You can do anything in Photoshop."
Me: Actually, scientists have reason to believe that God created the universe in Photoshop.
Nigel: "Version CS4."
Me: Which came out to the mortal market a few months ago.
Nigel: "Oh, maybe he used CS6 then."

Oooh! And the Continuous Coast project is moving along nicely. My side-project, the Lufton Runner's Tellurian Music series, has received the project's first donation! I really need to track down more bands to include in the project. I contacted [livejournal.com profile] kassitastrophe from Cruciform Injection, and have been trying to get ahold of the guys from Rachel's Surrender, but no dice.

If you are in a band and I know who you are, contact me now

to become a part of this exciting viral marketing and Alternative Reality Fiction project.
