I find it funny that so many people in my social scene get so quickly offended by me, when so many people in the business world tell me that my most valuable skill is my ability to network.
I met [this guy] at Strictly Business 2, and spent most of the first night trying to trade drinks with the rep from the company who paid for half the event. I jokingly asked him if he could send me "a bunch of Microsoft schwag." He told me they'd just run out of the good stuff, and I should wait until their next convention season starts.
Yesterday, I got a package from him that has over a thousand dollars in goodies, including a thumb drive, software suites, and a free registration to the WPPI (that's $400 right there).
I am, in a word, awestruck.
