Weekend update
2 October 2005 19:06(real fast)
Friday: Edited photos like mad. Dinner @ El Cid with a whole bunch of nifty folk, followed by Serenity. Serenity was awesome, although my eagerness to see it did not quite match my eagerness to see Mirrormask tonight.
Saturday: Spent the afternoon prepping for the exhibition and in the evening I went to Micah's scavenger hunt birthday party, followed by (of course) Neo. Only it was super cool because everybody from the hunt came, too, so there was a giant crowd of like 30 people that I'd just become friends with. There's a very fuzzy warm feeling that happens when you're at a club surrounded, I mean surrounded by friends. There were so many of us, we spilled out onto the dancefloor. I carpooled down there with Wicked Kitten and Pure Earth.
More thoughts about the particular joy that is carpooling later.
Sunday: Got up relatively early, did some online shopping for mattes and frames, then went to the Field Museum with
psychomofo &
pathogen. Egan introduced us to a friend of his who works there, this delicious young gothling that I must mercilously assault until she agrees to sit for my camera. Dear gods, her hair was GORGEOUS and she has the most lovely neck. Also, she's apparently dating a man named, get this, Toast.
Yes. These people must become my friends.
Tonight, we're all getting together for dinner @ Mitchell's followed by the
9:40 show of Mirrormask @ the Landmark Century Theater.
*ahem* Please join us if you can.
I'm taking a strange risk today, too. I invited some MySpacers to join us for the movie, a painter I've been making plans to meet later this week, and a Polish girl who recently moved here to follow her boyfriend and doesn't know anyone. I'm worried that it may turn out horribly. Hrm, well, I'll live and learn, I suppose.
