Connecticut Senate approves civil unions bill

HARTFORD, Connecticut (AP) -- The state Senate easily approved a bill that would make Connecticut the first state to recognize civil unions between same-sex couples without being pressured by the courts.

It continues to frustrate me that I live in a country that demands I speak out to support my own ambivalence about a subject.

dark chocolate (with almonds) dipped in creamy peanut butter

No incongruous flavors mixed in today. Bitter, yes, the darker chocolates have always been bitter, but they mix in so perfectly with peanut butter. No, the only oddity is how smooth the peanut butter is. The almonds are on the inside.

All this week, I've been waking up early, getting things done (although not as many as I'd like). Today I'm developing five rolls of film, checking on that thrice-damned package, checking out a digital camera I want to pick up. Later tonight, I plan to get thoroughly drunk while I clean my apartment and organize a new portfolio for my new works....

I'm content, I'm getting things done, making progress, and there's no one here to share it with. I wish I could hug someone, kiss them deep on the lips as they tell me how proud they are, but my Achingly Defiant is so very, very far from me now, busy with her newfound friend.

I'm penniless, ecstatic and the socialite in me wishes I had someone I could share it with.
