A Declaration of War
2 January 2004 10:22*sigh*
When I first started this LJ, I promised myself I wouldn't whine on it. That didn't happen.
My New Year's Resolutions? Exercise again, be more active, be more social, stop being so damn pessemistic (when it's not funny). Make all those changes I keep promising to myself I'll make someday.
In short, this year I will stop making excuses and start Being Happy.
I assure you that, for the average reader of this LJ, this will NOT include more hugs, more honesty or more openness. You may breathe again.
Perhaps some of you will disapprove of the steps I will take this year, should I mantain my resolve and see this Resolution through to it's conclusion. I can only tell you that I have been contemplating doing these things since well before August, before July, before April, and a well before a hundred other dates that ought to seem fairly arbitrary to all of you on the outside of my head.
Perhaps, nonetheless, you will disapprove. So be it. Even when Thine Enemy is your own sorrow, it is foolish to assume the Wicked Foe Hath No Allies. I will tolerate no longer these whispers in my head that wrap chains around my heart. I will not abide the presence of an Excuse, from my own mouth or that of others.
This is the year I throw off the shackles of Best For Everyone Involved. No longer will my mantra be I Have No Opinions As To The Activities of My Friends, for a stronger, better war cry is on my lips now.
Make Decisions Today You Can Live With For The Rest of Your Life.
I hereby declare 2004 the year of The War Against Lethargy
