Had a really excellent conversation with Radiant Idol today. At one point I again expressed frustration at how my work-LJ gets so few friends while my whining LJ gets so many. RI listed off a bunch of reasons why people might enjoy reading this stuff I write.

Now, I'm sitting here when I should be going to bed, scanning through my archives and looking for signs of what she described.

I don't see it.

Maybe Roo is right. Maybe I should stop waiting to be ready to get involved with my dad's temple and just start going.

you said something once about the universality of suffering, noticeable even in very disaparate situations. what you see as whiny others may see as different from their own situations in whatever ways, but relatable, and thus engaging, in reaction and human emotion.

this is of course coming from someone who doesn't know wtf to do with her own lj because of being afraid of...shockah...being too whiny. though it's only partly that, and partly that i'm just too exhausted to find the right words for what i want to say.

I don't understand how you can suggest people want to read the crap I write about, and then go on to say that no one could possibly want to read the crap you DON'T write about.

Stop restricting yourself. It's so much easier, and energizing, to express yourself.
