Achingly D would always point out that I had a certain roster of songs, at least one of which would always make it onto whatever mix CD I was making. I've made a very big point of not using those songs on the last three mixes I made, and now I've found that there's a different set of songs I seem to be reusing.

Granted, these aren't all going to the same person, like with AD. So what do people think? What's the rules regarding re-use of songs on mix CDs?

[Edit: Obviously, this question doesn't apply to the two Boingo songs, which I need to infect everyone here with so they can engage in certain ritualistic acts with me.]

My 'rules' regarding mix CDs are rather amorphous, and tend to change with each one (or rather, are particular with each one). That said, I'm not fussed about re-using songs so long as they fit the theme or intent of the CD. I don't make mixes too often these days (which is a shame, as I have playlists and whatnot to pillage for them), but when I made plenty of mix tapes, I didn't tend to re-use too often simply because some songs just didn't fit. If they did, though, I had no qualms about using them. Sometimes, it's just right.

... except for the one for me, right? :D (I may have been drunk, but I remember! hee hee!)

No rush though! I take forever on all my fun projects, and yours will be no different, I'm afraid!

Yup! In fact, I came up with two mix cd ideas for yours, so I'll be making two mix cds. I've got a list made up of potentials to go in one of them that I now need to narrow down. I haven't started the list for the other yet, but it'll be easier to make, I think. And when I get the opening song figured out for each, the rest just fall into place. :)

It'll take me a little while, too -- only a few times have I been able to crank out a mix in one day, and that only when particularly inspired or desperate (like when trying to save songs from a dying computer). So: no rush for either of us. I am patient, especially because I know it'll be good.

Music is a wonderful thing. Sharing, I've recently discovered, is an equally amazing thing. Putting them together is like those peanut butter cup commercials.

Thanks for the input.

You're welcome. I haven't shared mixes in a long time that I've almost forgotten how fun it is. Sharing is definitely amazing. :)
