Weirdness abounds
13 June 2005 22:25Cuddling as a form of entertainment? You don't say! Strangely, it turns out I am only separated by two degrees from the guys who started this.

Friday, I hung out with Deedi Dearest and Blue Beard in alternating rounds. First, DD took me to a used book fair, then she left for dinner. BB was waiting for me at the local coffeehouse.
(tangent: it's strange, but every time I schedule time in the darkroom to make prints of Achingly Defiant, someone calls me)
We played frisbee in the rain on this big green lawn at Loyola. I've got a great picture from wandering around there on my cell phone, but I can't seem to upload it to flickr. see?

Then, DD appeared again and BB had to leave. We went to a coffeehouse and then strolled up and down the beach in Roger's Park. It was serene.
Saturday, instead of hoofing it all the way down to printer's row (when I'm trying to reduce the amount of stuff I own), I went to the Edgewater Art Fair, and met this guy I'd seen around here. Turns out he makes his own paper. I may be collaborating with him on a project, which really means just using his paper and Liquid Light to make prints.

laustinthedark was the only one who showed up for dinner, and he arrived late. While waiting outside, i ran into my next door neighbor, this strange guy who always (and I mean ALWAYS) interrupts his own thoughts. We chatted for a while. None of my non-CGDSG friends came out, either. When
grrremlinski's careful of people (including
deladejavoo,
happyelfling, and
nemesisn72) did finally show up, we headed out to Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. That was really cool.

Afterwards, we hit Neo, where a bunch of other CGDSG folks bought me a giant metric butt load of drinks.
I was extremely trashed when I realized that the red head from last week (and November before that) is here. Again. She never goes out! We make a bit of small talk, she wishes me a happy birthday. I ask her if she's still smitten with the guy she talked about back in November. "No, we just broke up, actually." Oh. Then I should ask for your phone number. "Eh. Give me a month, I'm all bitter right now."

(later, Thorn Chain says, "I like how you phrased that. It's like thinking out loud, and gives her a graceful way out if she's not interested." I was just drunk.)
When Neo ends, there's a giant pink lipstick kiss on my cheek, and I don't know how it got there.

Then we headed over to Clarke's and ate a bunch of food.

A few hours later, still mildly hung over, I went to my parent's, and spent the day rollerblading, checking out houses that my brother's thinking about buying, and then dinner at Tsukasa. Today, I went to my first day of classes at Columbia (color photography! for eight hours straight twice a week!). After class, I stopped by my brother's high rise and worked out in his gym.
I was going to spend tonight in the darkroom working on those prints I mentioned earlier, but now my brother wants to eat dinner together.
Hello, thirties.
