There's a guy in Chicago I've been friends with since high school. We used to hang out all the time. Once, when we were both almost-kind-of-possibly dating girls we really liked, we decided to try a double date, and we both got stood up by our dates at the last minute.
Fun times, high school. I miss those days sometimes.
Anyway, I tracked him down last year when I started contemplating the move to Chicago. We reconnected, just like old times. Sitting around a diner and talking BS. At the end of the day, we gave each other big man-hugs, clapped each other on the back, and talked about how good it would be to start hanging out again.
Since the last time I spoke to him, his wife became pregnant and they're giving birth in about a week.
Yeah, that's me. I'm good at keeping in touch with those I care about. No hypocrisy here, no sir.
