I'm quite surprised by the color quality of this one, it's almost exactly as I recalled the scene, and required no adjustment:

More scanning artifacts on the web version. Really must figure out how to get rid of them.

I specifically like the last one with the shadow of the leaf.

The last one is a really good idea. I'd probably take one with a li'l more shadow, but you know how I like the contrast.
The first three, while they follow the rules of composition, are mediocre shots. #3? I mean, come on. Seriously.
Incidentally, how come yr digital photos always look slightly out-of-focus. Are they out of focus or is it just my crappy library monitors?

Yeah, I've mixed feelings on them, that's why I put them in here and not my photoLJ just yet. I agree that a darker shadow would've been better on the leaf/neck. The others were just sort of the top of the stack, I was tired, and doing work to stave off useless thinking.

There's some really decent ones, but I can't decide what's top notch.

As far as #3, I know you're not particularly into cheesecake, but it was one of the model's favorites, iirc, so that ought to be worth something. *shrug*

Right now, I'm just wishing I could schedule time to play with all the new equipment.

Oh, and I'm guessing it's monitor problems. The last one has those scanning artifacts I hate. The rest appear pretty crisp to me.
