Romance is a rotting corpse on the road to perdition

It's funny, but I've never actually been with a woman who appreciated my romantic side. Women learn to be leery of romantics. Too often, the language of romance is used by con artists and emotional vampires, men who don't really care about the woman they are wooing nearly as much as they care about what that woman can give them.

It's not just women, really. We live in a world where people take advantage, and we all learn to be distrustful of anyone who seems to be generous.
