I think... flowers on a first date is very nice.

See if you can get a small (fairly inexpensive) spring bouquet... with some yellow daisies, blackeyed susans, and some carnations... (or what ever nice spring flowers they have) definately stay away from roses.

I think it's a good idea ... but my vote is for ONE flower, long-stemmed, and not a rose. Something pretty that's a wonderful gesture but doesn't have the meaning of a rose.
