I've had this conversation with two or three people, and thought it interesting enough to debate some more.
Are these personality traits equal?
1. Worries about being evil
2. Strives to be good
3. Doesn't want to be considered evil
4. Wants to be considered good
Ignore the language, and concentrate on the general concept. I know, I know, it's stuff we all used to discuss ad nauseum when we were ten, but how long has it been since you discussed it? What's different about your preconceptions and biases now compared to when you first started philosophizing about this stuff?
I usually swat these sorts of questions away like they're gnats. This one is sticking with me lately. I dunno why.
