To Do
This pesky kitten keeps climbing onto my desk and sitting in front of my computer screen, staring very closely at the line of text as it appears. I'm trying very hard not to get attached to her kittens, but they're very cute, and the one THO named seems to have taken a particular liking to me.

It'd be nice to be able to scan & print color negative contact sheets. It'd also be cool to have one of those printers that prints right on the CD/DVD, but I don't think they have that in the all-in-ones.
Bottom line is, this is what I do: input and output images. I have the digital labs where I can do all my Heavy Scanning And Printing, but what can I settle for at home?
I just don't know.

just a suggestion. Mine also came from a power seller, not some random.
Ebay has it's uses when it comes to some electronics.
This post remeinds me to today go and try to find a driver for the nice flatbed scanner my dad gave me awhile back.. I need to start using that more, then trying to take pix of my drawings and doing it that route.
I so want a Divinci printer though.. hell just a nice color/photo printer that does sizes atleast up to 11x16.. one day.
One day I'll have my ultimate studio:P One step at a time..
Like I said check Ebay at the very least.. and the tablet it nice. I'm just now getting the hang of it and utililizing it more daily.

The dream for me, of course, is the Epson 4800 (anything bigger would cost way too much to maintain, compared to per-print pricing), a drum scanner for my film, and a nice all-in-one for every day needs. But, that's like more than the car I currently drive.
I've never heard of the Divinci printer, and google seems to be clogging up with Da Vinci Code links. Link me?
How do you like the size of the 6x8? Is that what you've been using for most of the work you've uploaded recently? How long did it take you to grow into it?

I almost bought the small one, but when I looked closer at specks and the fact it didn't really have that much move space or as many quick cut shortcut buttons, I opted for this size. The smallest has the size space of a small regular photo, not allot of working space.
But this is a good size start, the largest size is for bigger desk/work space and bigger pieces.
It all really depends on what type of work and what you are going to utilize it for.
Look at their official site and go through the questions and it will help it narrow it down for what would work for you.
As to getting adjusted to it it does take time and trying to use it daily (even for basic stuff like using the pen in favor of the mouse to browse online or whatever. That's how I got use to outside of artwork getting comfortable and familar with it in my hands.
I still even during working on the art alternate back and forth with my mouse and the pen, but I as time goes on am using my mouse less.
The mouse that comes with it sucks btw, I continue to use my regular cordless optical mouse.
I personaly thought when I first bought it that it would be instant transition and easy. It wasn't.
But after time it becomes 2nd nature, and once you figure out your sensitivity settings and such it becomes like using a regular pen, and you become quicker with it in time.
I feel it was a very good tool investment.
And my wrist thanks me muchly. Main reason for getting it, hours of using my mouse was killing my hand and wrist.
As for the Divinci.. I saw it awhile back in the year in one of my photography/equiptment mags, and I'm trying to locate it now, but in this room who knows where it is?
If I don't find it I'll ask one of my ex's who I believe has one in his studio if I remember correctly.
I know it was a huge long one, not sure it was the same brand, but I'll ask.
I just remember seeing it and going *droooool* i want.. but I can't afford it.. I think it runs close to three thousand round about?
But one can dream and hope.

This was really useful. I'm glad I asked you.
So basically, the Divinci is a extra-wide format printer? What else do you know about it?

Here is the printer I was talking about just spelled it wrong.
And the tablet I really wanted but can't afford yet, but I hope to obtain the next 2 years..
is the Wacom Cintiq 21 UX
My ex had one and it was awesome, and truly is the best way to work with cause you're literaly painting on the screen, or touching the screen and it makes for better cordination, and feels ten times more natural.
I only got to play with it a lil bit when I was at his studio, but the lil I did it felt very second nature, more then the tablet.
the tablets good, but the screen one is the best.

That thing costs more than my car!
And while the Cintiq is cool, I can't take it to the coffeehouse with me, so meh.

Yeah when I saw that at my ex's I almost came, and then I found out how much it went for and was like eeeeep!
But then again he makes enough money as an artist in various industries to afford such things..
His Mac computers, huge painting size scanner and other toys in just that one part of his studio was enough to make me want to just live in his studio and be his live in studio slave/maid whatever, just so i could have access to it all.
I would never leave lol. I try not to be envious ecspecialy when it comes to material things, but when it pertains to art tools yeah I get a lil gooey:P
He had 5 different rooms in his 4 level house all set up for different types of studio work, from an oil/painting room, to a room for sculpting and kilming, to a dark room to the technology room where that beautiful printer and Macs were.
fucker heh...
I should go to Atlanta and sneak in while he's in L.A right now:P
I know where the spare key still is.
J/k.. myabe heh.
Yeah as for tablets, if you're wanting one for to use on the go or travel with, go with the 6x8.
