More offensive than George W Bush.

Perhaps we ought to make it a rallying cry for the side of empathy and human decency as well?
Napoli says most abortions are performed for what he calls "convenience." He insists that exceptions can be made for rape or incest under the provision that protects the mother's life. I asked him for a scenario in which an exception may be invoked.
BILL NAPOLI: A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life.

FRED DE SAM LAZARO: Rounds prefers a less sweeping approach to restricting abortion; he says it would more likely pass legal muster. Still, the governor said the new law would be a good thing as a rallying cry for antiabortion forces.

The only pro-life argument against legal abortion that makes any sense is if someone genuinely believes abortion is murder. In that case, the fetus's murder shouldn't be acceptable no matter how it go there. The argument that it is hard, cold MURDER falls apart if that murder is acceptable in some situations.
If someone doesn't think it is morally reprehensable murder, they just...don't like it. They find it unpleasant, that's fine they have every right to feel but they have no business telling anyone else what to do, or supporting laws to that effect.
