memory clash
While reading this, this memory surfaced in my head:
The hostel in NoLA on July 4th weekend. I cradle Achingly Defiant while she shudders with her fear of bugs. I am in love and afraid and running wild with all my feelings, or at least as much as I can mange. She rocks slowly, listening to her bootleg and interview. I don't know how to reach out to her any more than this.
First time we drove up there, we found the Magnolia Motel, but I was too uncomfortable to go exploring inside it. Second time, I hopped out of the car and headed in without a thought. No hesitation.
